Prayer and Financial Support


PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Pray for the hearts of the kids that we will be ministering to this summer. Pray that the Spirit opens their spiritual eyes to see the glory of the Gospel.
  • Pray for the team of 10 adults and teens we are sending up to Alaska who are preparing their hearts for ministry among the Athabascan kids. Pray that they have confidence in the Gospel and that they are prepared to show love through patient discipleship opportunities.
  • Pray that God provides the finances that are  needed. Also pray that God would show his faithfulness to the members of our team who may feel  anxiety over how they will raise that kind of money.
  • Pray for Roger Huntington as he prepares the details for the camp and prepares to host a full summers worth of camps. Pray also for Adrian Johnson and Jason Kopp who will be preparing the details for camp.
  • Pray for the continued maturity of the Galena Bible Church so that those who choose to follow Christ will have a church to attend year round.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

If you are interested in financial support it would be very appreciated. The cost of the trip is $1300 per person and there are many ways that you can give.

  1. You can put money right into the offering plate on Sunday mornings during the worship service.
    • If you choose to put a check into the offering plate please make a note on the memo line: “Alaskan Mission”.
    • All contributions are tax deductible!
  2. There are also envelopes with different money amounts on them out in the main foyer. You can grab one of those to use in many different ways:
    • You can use it in your Sunday School class/Bible study group and do a small offering together as a study group to help support the Mission Trip.
    • You can use it at work/office with the same idea. People will often throw in a couple of dollars towards a good cause.
    • Children like to be involved with fund raisers as well. If they have saved up some dollars for offering or missionary money this is a great chance for them to be involved.
  3. We will host fund raisers for the community that you may choose to be involved in. You may share the word to your friends and neighbors so they can participate in these activities such as:
  • Cell Phone Drive: Through the month of April bring your unwanted cell phones in to a deposit box in the church foyer. We will send them into a company who will pay us for them. There are also bags that you can take to your place of employment or school to gather unwanted phones.
  • Yard and Bake Sale: May 27-28! TO DONATE ITEMS:
    • Drop off items at the church May 9th to May 26th, Tuesday – Saturday during the hours of 9 A.M. – 4 P.M.
